Robert Klabacka started his National Institute for Concrete Construction in 1959. Since that time, Robert's four sons have carried on a family tradition for over 40 years of adult vocational education. After dropping out of high school to join the US Army during WWII, Robert returned home to public high school and 10 years later graduated with his P.H.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Robert's adult educational experience formed the foundation of Associated Training Services Network (ATSN), which now has the reputation of being the largest network of affiliated heavy equipment operator schools in the United States. The tradition of quality adult education has carried on with Robert's four sons; Jerry, Mike, Mark, and John. All four of Robert's sons are independent owners and/or operators of schools in Wisconsin (1963), Florida (2002), New Hampshire (2004), Ohio (2003), Virginia (2005), Colorado (2006), South Carolina (2006), South California (2007), Texas (2008), North California (2008), and coming soon Arizona.
